Biography

Dr. Drischler is Managing Director of Chester River Enterprises. He specializes in arranging financing and country risk mitigation for clients with the international financial institutions.

In addition to his US State Department experience, Dr. Drischler spent more than 15 years adding an international dimension to a $2.5 billion New York based investment firm, which prior to his arrival had been almost entirely domestic in its orientation. In that capacity he was actively involved in transactions with the International Finance Corporation, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Inter-American Development Bank, the Commonwealth Development Corporation, and the Overseas Private Investment Corporation among other institutions.

In the course of his business career Dr. Drischler has participated in a wide range of overseas investments in manufacturing, telecommunications, financial services, soft drink bottling, and power utilities. His corporate activities have taken him to numerous countries including Russia, Argentina, Venezuela, Belize, Haiti, Guyana, Guatemala, Barbados, Bulgaria, the Congo, and Nicaragua.

At Washington College he teaches international political economy, international business, and strategic management. He has also taught a graduate seminar in international investment and political risk analysis at the Johns Hopkins University in Washington, D.C

Personal

Dr. Drischler and his wife are currently restoring an 18th century house in Chestertown, Maryland. In his spare time, he enjoys tennis, chess, and classical music.
