Additional Information

I teach the classes at the beginning and end of the business program. Marketing is the first substantive business course that most students take. In addition to learning facts, students have to develop a marketing plan for an on-campus or downtown business. Strategic Management is our capstone course. In it students have to do a strategic analysis of a company of their choosing.

My wife and I love to travel and we try to do so as much as possible during the summer. We have been to practically every state in the United States. Outside of the United States we have traveled to Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, Scotland, Spain, Switzerland, and Wales.

For the past five summers, 2003 through 2007, I escorted a select group of students to Europe for a course in International Business Experience. We visited several EU institutions, international and local businesses, and had presentations from various government officials and local academics. Please see The Leiden Course.

This summer, 2008, the exchange rate makes going to Europe too expensive. Therefore, the International Business Experience course will be conducted in China in late May. Please see the preliminary itinerary (Excel).
